Student counsellors and officials at the Dean Students’ Welfare office, North Campus, were flooded with queries and problems of ST/SC candidates on Saturday, which was the last day for the issue of provisional admission slips to students of this category.
Among the close to 200 students who visited the office, many wanted the allotted course and subject to be changed. “There were about 10 candidates who came to me with a request to change their course or college. That apart there are many latecomers who did not collect their admission slips on time and walked in as late a 3pm when the counter was officially meant to close at 1pm,” said Suman Verma, joint deputy dean, students’ welfare.
Aarti was one among the latecomers. “I had trouble finding the Arts faculty and that’s why we reached late. I’ve been told I have missed the deadline for collecting the slip and can no longer seek admission to the college that I was alloted,” she said.
