Home minister Sushilkumar Shinde on Monday said the government had taken note of JKLF chief Yasin Malik sharing the stage with Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed during his Pakistan visit and action concerning his passport will be taken at the appropriate time.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Shinde said the central government had left it to the Jammu and Kashmir government to take suitable steps upon Malik's return from Pakistan and he had been placed under house arrest.

Malik had shared a dais with Saeed, a mastermind of 26/11 terror attack and chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, at a Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) rally in Islamabad last month against execution of parliament atttack convict Afzal Guru.

Asked if the government will revoke Malik's passport or decide against renewing it, Shinde only said appropriate action will be taken.

"We have taken note of it (his sharing dias with Saeed). At appropriate time, action will be taken," he said.
