The election management committee of Delhi BJP on Sunday discussed strategies to be adopted during the Lok Sabha elections in the national capital and asked the block level workers to streamline the functioning of the party.
The meeting was attended by Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly V K Malhotra and Delhi BJP chief O P Kohli and other office bearers of the state unit.
"We discussed the strategies to be adopted during the election campaign in Delhi and instructions were issued for the block-level workers to streamline the party," a spokesperson of the Delhi BJP said.
He said issues like price rise, terrorism and mis-handling of the economy will be focused during party's election campaign in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Jat Mahapanchayat, which had demanded ticket for Parvez Verma, son of Sahib Singh Verma, from West Delhi constituency, on Sunday decided to give the BJP more time to reconsider the issue.
An 11-member committee of the Mahapanchayat met today and requested the BJP leadership to reconsider the decision. Earlier, the supporters of Verma had demanded the party leadership to reverse their decision to field MLA Jagdish Mukhi from the West Delhi seat.
The Mahapanchayat will take a decision after a week on its future course of action, a functionary of the Mahapanchayat said.
