A 15-year-old boy who was allegedly thrashed and given electric shocks for relieving himself near the Ghitorni metro station has moved the Delhi High Court, seeking government help for better treatment at a private hospital.

The father of the boy, who is in the 10th standard student at a local school, said that on July 21 his son while coming home felt a sharp pain in his abdomen.
The boy found an isolated space behind a showroom where he answered the nature’s call.
The showroom owner and his associates allegedly apprehended the boy and beat him up, and forced him to clean the spot with water.
The boy’s father, Babban Tiwari, said in his petition that the owner and his associates then took his son to the terrace of the building where they tied his hands and legs.
He alleged that they gave him electric shock in different parts of his body, including his legs, hands and neck.
When the boy passed out, they threw the boy at a bus stand near the Ghitorni Metro station thinking he had died, advocate VK Pandey, who is representing the father, said.
Later in the evening, when the boy came gained consciousness, he requested a passerby to inform his parents.
Pandey said after the FIR (First Information Report) was registered, the accused persons were regularly sending goons to boy’s house and threatening the family.
The boy suffered extensive burns on his legs, arms and other parts. But because of lack of proper medical treatment, he lost three fingers.
The father said due to his poor financial condition, he has not been provide better medical treatment to his son.
Taking note of the father’s plea seeking a direction to the government to provide medical treatment of his son at Max Hospital at the government’s expense, Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva has sought response from the authorities and the police.
The court posted the matter for further hearing on November 11.
