Dayal said the accidents may have caused by a "human error" as the driver of the Metro rail jumped a signal when he should have stopped.

"It is a human error on part of the train driver who jumped a signal," Dayal said.

The DMRC has ordered an inquiry.

The Yamuna Bank-Dwarka line is one of the busiest metro routes in the capital. Everyday more than 825,000 people commute on Delhi Metro.
