Delhi'ites from all walks of life turned out in full force on Sunday evening to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the Mumbai terror attack.
A peace march was organised by a voluntary organisation at Jantar Mantar on Sunday. Among those who participated were around 200 children from 25 countries, including Zambia, Thailand and Australia. They are in town to participate in the 9th International Children's Festival of Performing Arts.
Authorities of Ryan International School, which is organising the Festival of Performing Arts, had bought the children, who were dressed in their national costumes and carried banners and shouted slogans demanding peace. They also sang songs of love and harmony in their respective languages.
Chaitanya Chadha, a real estate agent and his friend Mohit Seghal, an employee of Scholastic India, managed to collect approximately a hundred of their friends for a candlelight vigil to condole the death of the Mumbai terror attack victims. "We sent out mass emails and SMSes to whoever we knew to raise their voices against the insecurity plaguing our lives," said Chadha.
Students of IP University held a street play, 'Phir Na Hone Denge, (Won't let it happen again)' to show how people can put an end to such tragedies.
