Delhi police today tried to establish a link between suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists allegedly involved in serial blasts in 2008 and Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Toiba before a court by reading out contents of emails exchanged between them.

"Aftab Ansari, 2002 Kolkata's Amercian Centre attack case convict, was in touch with several associates including Arshad and Asif Raza Khan, brother of Indian Mujahideen founder Amir Raza Khan," Public Prosecutor Rajeev Mohan told Additional Sessions Judge Santosh Snehi Mann.
Ansari, facing the gallows, used to converse with them through emails in which he had even described codes of different things, he claimed.
The prosecutor also read out contents of a few emails to claim that Ansari, who was deported here from Dubai, had worked for the banned terror outfits like LeT and HuJI.
He was putting forth arguments on charges to be framed against 14 suspected IM terrorists arrested so far in connection with the serial blasts here on September 13, 2008.
His arguments sought to correlate the broader nexus among various terror outfits and also to prove that IM, though not included in the list of banned organisations, was an offshoot of LeT and SIMI.
He is likely continue his arguments tomorrow in the matter.
All the accused have been chargesheeted under various provisions of the IPC, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act.
