Filing the eighth charge sheet in last year's serial bombings in the capital, Delhi Police on Wednesday said suspected Indian Mujahideen member Mohammed Akbar Ismail Chaudhary provided logistical support to send emails to media houses.
The supplementary chargesheet in the case related to the bombing at Karol Bagh was filed in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja, who posted the matter for further consideration September 16.
The September 13, 2008 serial blasts in the capital claimed 26 lives.
Delhi Police booked Ismail Choudhary under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substance Act.
Choudhary, a resident of Pune, was arrested by Mumbai Police in September 2008, before being taken into the custody of Delhi Police June 11 for his alleged role in the serial blasts.
He is also allegedly involved in the twin blasts in Hyderabad Aug 25, 2007.
According to police, Choudhary had joined Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, Indian Mujahideen's media cell chief, and other accused Mobin Kader Sheikh and Asif Bashir Sheikh by hatching a criminal conspiracy to hack a wi-fi system to send mails to media organisations.
