A 19-year-old Delhi University student has claimed that her 23-year-old neighbour repeatedly raped her for three days after he allegedly abducted her on April 13.
The police have filed a case on charges of abduction, illegal confinement and rape against Farhan, who worked as a car mechanic.
The girl claimed that he took her to Greater Noida from Delhi and then repeatedly raped her between April 13 and 16.
But the police said on April 15 the girl and the accused had come to Govindpuri police station where she told the police that she had willingly gone with Farhan and that she was legally an adult.
"However, the very next day, she changed her statement recorded before an sub divisional magistrate alleging that she was raped by the accused several times over three days," said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity.
The girl had reportedly gone missing on April 13, the day her father filed a missing person's complaint after failing to find her. Her father is also a car mechanic.
After she returned home on April 16, she told her parents that Farhan had raped her several times.
She told her parents that on April 13, while she was waiting for a bus on Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Farhan came in a car and stopped in front of her, police said.
Police said he then allegedly forced her inside the car and drove to Greater Noida.
After parking the car in an isolated place, he allegedly raped her. He then took her to a flat where he raped her again, she had told her parents.
On April 16, however, she claimed that she managed to flee and returned to her house at Pul Prahladpur. Following this, his father informed police about the incident.
