Delhiites get respite from scorching heat

Residents of the national capital today got some respite from scorching heat as mercury dipped well below 40 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.5 degree Celsius, almost three degrees lower than yesterday's maximum of 40.2, while the minimum was 20.6 degree Celsius.

Residents of the national capital today got some respite from scorching heat as mercury dipped well below 40 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 37.5 degree Celsius, almost three degrees lower than yesterday's maximum of 40.2, while the minimum was 20.6 degree Celsius.

Met department said today's maximum was normal for the this time of the season while the minimum was almost five degrees below normal.

Rainfall accompanied by hail and dust storm had brought respite from heat for the residents yesterday as the city received a total of 11.2 mm rainfall.

Yesterday, the minimum temperature was 20.6 degrees.

The weatherman has predicted a partly clouded sky, with possibility of rain and thunder showers tomorrow.

While the maximum temperature is likely to be 39.0 degree Celsius, the minimum is likely to be around 24 degrees.

The month of May began with a sizzling 44.2 degrees Celsius, the season's highest.

In the past 10 years, the month of May has recorded maximum temperature above 44 degree Celsius five times. The record for the past ten years was 46 degree Celsius which was recorded on May 19.
