The national Capital saw another day of pleasant weather on Saturday, recording a minimum temperature of 7.7 degrees Celsius. It was normal for this time of the season and up from Friday’s low of 6.1 degrees Celsius.
The city recorded a maximum temperature of 24 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees above normal. The maximum on Friday was 23.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.
The weatherman has predicted shallow fog for Sunday morning. “The sky will be partially cloudy during the day and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be 24 degrees Celsius and 9 degrees Celsius respectively,” said a senior official from the India Meteorological Department.
A shallow fog cover was seen in the early hours on Saturday, but it gave way to a mild sun as the day progressed. Delhi has experienced pleasant weather in the past few days. So much so that the mercury had risen to 24.3 degrees Celsius last week.
After a continuous spell of foggy days, the Capital has been experiencing pleasant weather in the past few days. According to Meteorological Department statistics, the record for the highest maximum temperature for the month of January was 32.5 degree Celsius recorded on January 28, 2004.
The record minimum is 0.6 degree Celsius recorded on January 16 in 1935.
The normal minimum temperature, which is calculated using data from the past 30 years, for this time of the year, is around 7 degree Celsius, while the normal maximum is around 21 degrees.
