Hailing the Centre's proposal to extend a ban on sealing in Delhi, Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit on Wednesday said that the step would provide an opportunity to people to correct any violation of building byelaws.

"Sealing has caused huge harassment to Delhiites and if the proposal is accepted, it will definitely extend a great relief to the people", she said adding that if given time, people would definitely opt for self correction according to the allowed Floor Area Ratio given in the building byelaws.

Meanwhile, she alleged that the opposition parties raked up the issue to criticise her during poll campaign.

"I was also harassed for my residence in Nizamuddin East which did not even violate building bye-laws," she said.

Speaking on the power crisis, Dikshit said the government would add 5000-6000 MW of power by 2012 for which two gas based power plants are under construction.

"Apart from completing the two gas based power plants, tie ups are also being made by other power plants including one at Jhajhar and Damodar valley corporation," Dikshit said.
