A doctor couple, who wanted their daughter to get admission into a prestigious medical college by hook or by crook, has been duped by two persons and finally ended up losing Rs 25 lakh. Karn Pratap Singh reports.
A doctor couple, who wanted their daughter to get admission into a prestigious medical college by hook or by crook, has been duped by two persons and finally ended up losing Rs 25 lakh. The couple paid the money by selling their flat in Gurgaon.
The couple became victims of a fake admission racket, which had been attracting MBBS aspirants by giving advertisement in an English newspaper by offering guidance for admission.
One of the cheaters claimed himself to be associated with the ministry of human resource development (MHRD). The cheater, who had identified himself as SB Yadav, deluded the couple claiming he had seven reserve seats all over India belonging to central pool including one in Vardhman Mahavir Medical College, Delhi.
The matter was reported at south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar police station on Sunday. A case under section 120B/34/420 (criminal conspiracy and cheating) has been registered in the matter.
The couple told police that they had contacted one Aggarwal on his mobile number that they had got from the advertisement published in the newspaper.
The couple met Aggarwal and he introduced them to Yadav. Yadav told them that the reserved seats were allotted as per discretion of the ministry of HRD and the whole process was fair and legal and would cost them R50 lakh. The fraud was detected when after taking the money the accused stopped taking the couple’s calls.
