Sex change has different benefits for different people. For Anas Khan, 24, it was about earning more money.

So when on September 6, his employer asked him to deliver Rs 2 lakh to a business associate, Khan saw an opportunity and fled with the money. He wanted to undergo sex change operation so that he could earn more as a female prostitute. But the police managed to catch him before he could undergo the surgery.

Police sources said that Khan used to work as a male prostitute at a prominent hotel but was losing clients due to his age. “To earn money, he decided to go for sex change so that he could work as a female prostitute,” said a police officer.

Khan was arrested after his employer, Virender Mohan, owner of a chemical firm in Rohini, filed a complaint. During interrogation, Khan revealed that he had planned to use the money to get breast implants.

“After stealing the money, he deposited Rs 1 lakh at a clinic in Patel Nagar,” said V Renganathan, additional commissioner of police (West). Following the complaint, raids were conducted at different parts of Delhi.

Khan’s parents are not dependent on him for a livelihood and they earn a living by doing embroidery work. From past few years, Khan was working with Mohan as a delivery boy and used to come from his Rohini house every day.
