Don't read too much into Hurriyat meeting: Pak
Pakistan today said "too much should not be read" into the meeting between its foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and separatist Hurriyat leaders from Kashmir ahead of her meeting with external affairs minister SM Krishna.
Pakistan on Wednesday said "too much should not be read" into the meeting between its foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar and separatist Hurriyat leaders from Kashmir ahead of her meeting with external affairs minister SM Krishna.
Pakistan foreign secretary Salman Bashir said at a press conference in New Delhi that it was Islamabad's "reach out" effort, keeping democratic polity in mind.
"I think we need not read more into it. Our foreign minister has said that the meeting yesterday cannot be construed in any manner, either intentionally or by design, to cast any shadow on today's talks. It is to the contrary," Bashir said when asked if Khar's meeting with the Hurriyat leaders had any impact on the bilateral meeting with Krishna.
