Profession: Active politician who is also a practising Ear Nose Throat (ENT) surgeon. He has a clinic in Krishna Nagar.
Education: He did his MBBS from GSVM Medical College, Kanpur followed with an MS degree from same college with a specialisation in ENT.
Political career: Associated with RSS since childhood. He entered electoral politics for the first time in 1993 and won from Krishna Nagar. He continued his winning streak in 1998 and 2003 as well. When the BJP ruled in 1993, he was the health minister and has been credited with introducing Pulse Polio programme in the city. He received awards, including the Rotary International’s “Polio Eradication Champion Award” and WHO’s commendation medal for his work towards banning tobacco.
Family: Wife Nutan is a specialist in hospital administration but has chosen to be a homemaker. They have two sons and a daughter.
Cars: He is driven around town in a Honda City.
