B.Sc. (Hons.) Polymer Science is a specialised job-oriented course offered by University of Delhi since 2004. It is offered in Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, Dwarka.

Students having passed Class XII with science subjects and having minimum 60 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Maths are eligible to apply for this course. The course is highly technical and job-oriented. Hence, students who want to build their career in technical field are suitable to take up this course.

Application-friendly
The course is designed to make students aware of the synthesis, processing and testing of plastics, rubbers and fibres. Students get a complete theoretical and practical knowledge in polymer chemistry, rheology, morphology, synthesis, processing and various types of physical and chemical testing of polymers along with mathematics, chemistry, physics and computers. Apart from theoretical knowledge, the students are sent to various industries and research laboratories for two-months training in 2nd as well as 3rd year.

The theoretical classroom experiences are supplemented by well-designed laboratory practices.

Opportunities
B.Sc. (Hons.) Polymer Science is a highly job oriented course as there is a scarcity of Polymer Chemists in the industries.
After graduation students have various options for higher studies like M.Sc. in Polymer Sc, environmental Science, Material Science, M.Tech. in nanotechnology, Post graduate diplomas in various institutes, MBA from various institutes. Every year many students go abroad on scholarship to pursue post graduate degrees. Studenys have gone on to study at institutes like IITs and London Metropolitan University, U.K. They have been places with Indian Oil Corporation and Reliance. Interested students are also placed in various reputed polymer industries with impressive pay packages.
