The wait is over. Delhi University colleges have released the first cut-off list for admissions. As expected, the Commerce and Economics cut-off marks have shot up over last year’s while Humanities registered a marginal increase. Science cut-offs remained almost static.
To get into Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in the BCom Honours course, you need at least 94.75 per cent marks if you are a commerce stream student. If you are a science or humanities student without mathematics as a subject, you need 98.75 per cent.
SRCC principal PC Jain said the increase in the cut-off marks for BCom Honours and Economics in his college have been marginal. He said the cut-off marks for Commerce and Economics are bound to rise, given the good performance of these students in Class XII exams.
Cut-off marks for non-commerce stream students in BCom are high across the board, but very few such students get in, as there are hardly any applicants with the required scores.
“Last year, our cut-off for (non-commerce) students was 97.25 per cent. But nobody came. Even 96.25 per cent is a very high score. Very few non-commerce students get such marks. Seats will be filled by commerce students,” said SR Arora, principal of Hans Raj College.
