The Delhi University's cultural festival, Antardhwani, is all set to start on Friday. The mega event, which will see participation from all university colleges, is also open to outsiders.
"We have also thrown open the gates to people who are not from Delhi University as there are a number of stalls which have displays that will not only benefit those from the university but also the general public," said Dinesh Singh, vice chancellor, Delhi University.
Classes have also been suspended for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the three days that the festival will take place.
The university has introduced several new competitions this year, including film making on campus life, and stalls for colleges and departments to showcase their good practices. Colleges that win the first prize for good practices will get an award of Rs 10 lakh followed by prizes worth Rs 7 lakh and Rs 5 lakh.
Apart from this, the university will set up a dedicated stall to give out information regarding the new four-year undergraduate honours degree programme.
The festival will be inaugurated by Kapil Sibal, minister of communications and information technology, at the university stadium.
