If you are a Delhi University student, brace yourself for more strikes and dharnas by teachers.

Teachers from various colleges took to the streets on Thursday as the stalemate between the university authorities and Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) continued. The teachers are likely to intensify their protests in the coming days. The teachers submitted a memorandum to the ministry of human resource development (MHRD), demanding the announcement of a new vice-chancellor at the earliest.

The teachers are protesting against VC Deepak Pental for “illegally sticking to the chair” despite the expiry of his term. The imposition of semester system in science courses is also a bone of contention between the teachers and the authorities.
