A 45-year-old businessman was roughed up allegedly by two men travelling in a Honda City after an argument that flared up after their car hit his Wagon R in southwest Delhi’s Dabri on Friday night.

According to sources, the incident took place around 9.30pm meters away from the Dabri police station.

The victim in his statement told police that the duo took away his gold chain and also broke the windowpanes of his car, said a source. Police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.

The victim, businessman Nand Lal, was returning to his house in Mangolpuri in outer Delhi when the incident took place. Lal in his statement told the police that he was on his way when a speeding Honda City hit his car from behind.

“An argument broke out that turned ugly soon after. The duo started beating up Lal. They also broke the windowpanes and the rear windscreen of Lal’s car before speeding away in their vehicle,” said a police officer.

The matter, the officer said, came to light after Lal made a call to the police control room and narrated the incident.

“Lal told us that the Honda City car had registration number of Haryana. We are verifying his claims,” said the officer.
