Engineer found dead with throat slit

A 23-year-old computer engineer was found murdered with his throat slit outside a residential complex in south Delhi in an apparent bid to rob him, police said.

A 23-year-old computer engineer was on Saturday found murdered with his throat slit outside a residential complex in south Delhi in an apparent bid to rob him, police said.

Babu Lal, a computer hardware engineer in Nehru Place, was found murdered outside the Triveni Apartments in Malviya Nagar area around 1 am.

His mobile phone, cash and other valuables were missing but his motorbike was found near his body.

The victim was brother of Chotte Lal, who is the personal secretary to president of Indian Justice Party Udit Raj.

He had telephoned his sister-in-law last evening saying that he would return home late.

But when he did not return, his brother informed police and during investigations, it was found that Babu Lal had made last phone call from Chirag Delhi area.

Later, his body was found near the Trivani Apartments, police said adding that a case has been registered and further investigations were on.

Police said they were investigating whom the victim had met last.

The incident could also be a case of robbery cum murder as his wallet, mobile and other valuables are missing, police said.
