Heads are expected to roll in Delhi Police following the escape from police custody by three Pakistani nationals, who were arrested in connection with blasts near the Red Fort nine years ago.
Sources in the Home Ministry said a "detailed report" has been called from all the agencies involved in the case.
The incident took place on January one when Meghalaya police personnel who were on deputation to the Delhi Police's Special Branch were escorting Abdul Razzak, Mohammed Sadiq and Rafaqat Ali to a hospital for treatment.
The trio's escape left the authorities red faced and prompted them to sound a red alert in the national capital and neighbouring areas to track them.
Delhi Lt Governor Tejinder Khanna has already ordered an inquiry into the escape of the trio. Delhi police has announced an award of Rs 1.50 lakh (Rs 50,000 each) for anyone providing information about him or her.
Khanna ordered a magisterial probe to be conducted by Deputy Commissioner (revenue) of the North-West Delhi district D Yadav and asked them to submit the report within a week.
The three were arrested on October 30, 2000, from Rohtak and Delhi along with five other Pakistani nationals and a huge quantity of arms and ammunition, including 17 kg of high-grade RDX as well as 50 kg of heroin, was recovered from them.
