After a week of relief, Delhiites are set to face another hot and uncomfortable week with the temperatures set to touch 45 degrees yet again. After the city experienced a maximum temperature of 41.8 degrees on Sunday, three degrees above normal, the Weatherman has forecast the maximum temperature to climb to 45 degrees later his week.
On Sunday, day time temperatures troubled many, most of who had thought that the worst of the summer was over in the last week of May.
“I had thought the temperature will not be as high as it was in May but Sunday’s weather seemed like a preview for the upcoming week. I am just waiting for some rains again,” said Mahima Yadav, a college student.
Sunday morning’s minimum, recorded as 29.5 degrees, too was uncomfortable. Humidity oscillated between 23 and 35 per cent.
Monday is set to be hotter with the maximum temperature likely to rise to 43 degrees Celsius. The minimum could be around 30 degrees Celsius.
“We are expecting a partly cloudy sky and while there is a possibility of thunder and dust-storms towards the late afternoon, it will not bring down the temperature by much,” said the Weatherman.
The city, which had been reeling under heatwave conditions, has been experiencing relatively pleasant weather since the rains last Tuesday.
