Ustad Nazhar Umrao Bunda Khan from Pakistan and Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan recited Ghalib's ghazals at the legendary poet's haveli in old Delhi on Wednesday, the eve of Mirza Ghalib's 215th birth anniversary.

It was for the first time that a performing artist from the neighbouring country attended the candle light march and subsequent celebrations by the Ghalib Memorial Movement, the 12th-year celebration of the annual event in memory of the poet (born December 27, 1797).

Braving the winter chill, Ghalib lovers gathered at the Town Hall in Chandni Chowk and marched with candle lights to the Ghalib Ki Haveli at Gali Qasim Jaan. Founder member of the Movement Uma Sharma, Haroon Yusuf, Delhi's Power Minister and Safdar Khan, chairman of Delhi Minorities Commission were among those who attended the walk. However, Gulzar, who terms this as "annual pilgrimage for Ghalib" was absent owing to poor health.
