Nobody came to the aid of the 23-year-old woman when her father used to exploit her sexually, not even her two elder sisters, police said.
During interrogation, police said, the woman revealed that the exploitation began soon after her mother died three years ago. At that time, she went to each of her elder sisters who did not step in to help her out.
The woman and her two lovers are accused of murdering her 56-year-old father.
Both her sisters, strangely, have separated from their husbands, police said. Investigators privy to the details of the case said they were now probing the extent to which the woman was exploited by her father and hinted that there was a possibility that her two sisters too had been victimised in a similar manner.
“There seems to be a bigger angle of sexual abuse here given the strained marital relationships of the 56-year-old’s other daughters as well. That both her elder sisters refrained from stepping in and helping her point to two things: That they were too scared of their father and that there was a possibility that they too had been sexually exploited by him before marriage and had been told to keep quiet,” said a senior police officer.
The police said they were in the process of investigating the matter further in light of allegations of prolonged sexual abuse that have emerged.
The 23-year-old, meanwhile, has refused to undergo medical examination. “We understand she has committed the murder as she was emotionally and mentally scarred and are mulling getting her counselled,” the officer added.
Police said the woman told them that she was emotionally attached to both the men who had helped her murder her father. Investigators said the trio had meticulously planned the murder for several days.
“She roped in the men as her father had verbally abused her several times for coming home late. She also told us that he had recently reprimanded her for being in a relationship with one of the men and had even physically assaulted her,” said another police officer.
The woman and her two boyfriends allegedly battered her father to death with a cricket stump before physically extracting the pacemaker attached to his heart in west Delhi last week. They then dumped his body in a forested area near Uttam Nagar, police said.
