‘Faulty’ maps for colonies: BJP

BJP leaders of South Corporation have called the maps of unauthorised colonies drawn by Delhi government faulty. They have not taken into account vacant plots in the colonies, says the corporation.
Several properties in such colonies will be left out in the regularisation drive as the satellite images map only the actual built up area and not vacant lands like parks and uninhabited plots.
“The boundary of the map follows the contours of the built up area. Technically, it means that nearly 50% of the colonies will not be regularised,” said chairman of standing committee, Rajesh Gehlot. The town planning department of the municipal body confirmed that they have received 2 DVDs of the first set of maps from the Delhi government.
“If vacant plots are not included, the owners will end up paying the cost of land twice,” added Gehlot.
