In a bid to attract more passengers on the newly-opened corridor, Reliance Infrastructure — concessionaire (joint operator) of the Airport Metro Express — on Thursday announced special discounts (half of the travel cost) during the extended weekend, beginning Good Friday.

The offer will be available on single journey tokens and Stored Value Pass (SVP) holders, as well.

On April 12 and 13, too, Reliance Infrastructure had offered 50% discount to commuters during Ram Navami and Baisakhi. Company sources claimed the offer had helped increase footfalls.

The Airport Expressline, that registers an average daily footfall of 8,000 commuters at present, has now planned to get more (non-airport bound) commuters to avail the service, by offering 50% discount.http://www.hindustantimes.com/images/HTPopups/220411/22_04_11-metro-3.jpg

“The festive offer is part of our ongoing customer-centric initiatives. We will continue to offer such schemes in future, for greater customer satisfaction,” said a spokesperson of Reliance Infrastructure.

“The discounted fare scheme is for Delhi commuters who are planning short outstation trips and want to board trains from New Delhi railway station,” the spokesperson added.

Besides, officials said, the offer will benefit those heading to Sacred Heart Cathedral, one of the oldest churches in Delhi, to offer prayers on Good Friday.
