Flight operations at the IGI airport, which were badly disrupted due to dense fog for two days this week, remained normal for the second consecutive day on Sunday.

"All the flights are operating as per their schedule, as the airport did not witness a dense fog for the second successive day," an airport official said.

The general visibility remained over 200 metres while the runway visibility was over 1,500 metres for most of the night, he said, adding visibility increased to over 2,000 metres in the morning.

Some of the morning flights out of Delhi were delayed or rescheduled due to poor weather condition at the destinations.

On Saturday too, most of the flights were operating as per their schedule but some were delayed due to operational reasons.

Schedules of over 250 flights were badly affected as thick fog enveloped the national capital's airport for over 40 hours from Wednesday evening.

A large number of flights were disrupted despite the airport having the best facilities in the country, including two CAT-III B compliant runways which allow an aircraft to land when the runway visibility is about 50 metres. Taking this into account, the DGCA asked the airport operator, DIAL, to handle the situation during foggy conditions.
