Like every year, Pakistan’s stalls (in Halls 6 and 18), showcasing crockery with traditional Pakistani stonework, spices, cosmetics and garments attracted most visitors.
“Although the number of visitors has split due to the stalls being in two halls, we are expecting many footfalls,” said Mussarat Matloob, a garment entrepreneur from Karachi.
India’s northern neighbour, Afghanistan, wants to attract traders for more business. “We are looking at strengthening the trade of saffron, dry fruits and other fruits with Indian traders. We have got a positive response and hope business would grow in the coming days,” said Murtaza Amiryar, floor manager at the Afghanistan pavilion (in Hall 6).
Chandeliers made of glass and metal garnered attention at the Turkey stall, as did silver and stone jewellery.
Other countries that have put up their stalls at the trade fair include China, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Iran and Korea.
