The frisking of the former president that violates Indian laws created an uproar in parliament when political leaders cutting across party lines had criticised the carrier.

The government had earlier said an FIR has been registered by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) at the IGI Airport police station against staff of the Continental Airlines.

But a police official said they were "looking at options how to tackle the issue. There is no registered case right now."

Senior officials of the Continental Airlines were summoned Friday by the government.

The officials had met Civil Aviation Secretary M. Madhavan Nambiar and apologised again for frisking Kalam at the Indira Gandhi International Airport when he was going on a visit to the US this April.

The airline had claimed that they have apologised to the former president but Kalam has denied receiving any apology.

"The frisking was absolutely unpardonable. Action will be taken in accordance with the sentiments of the house," Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel had told Parliament.
