Full house at SRCC despite high cut-off

There may have been a hue and cry about the ‘unrealistic’ first cut-off list at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) but the college has filled almost all seats on the very first day of admissions on Thursday.

Though there are still three more days to go for admissions under the first list, only 18 seats remain in the general category in the coveted B Com (Hons) course at SRCC. Similarly, only 11 seats remain in Economics (Hons) in the general category.

While SRCC had decided to keep the cut-off marks for non-commerce students seeking admission in B Com (Hons) as 100%, the cut off for commerce students was 96%.http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/HTEditImages/Images/17_06_pg1d.jpg

"Most students who have taken admission are from the commerce stream as the cut-off for them was very achievable," said PC Jain, principal of SRCC.

Despite the high cut-off, SRCC has filled most of the seats faster than in the past few years. "Students thought they would not get admission if all seats were filled on the first day. They have, therefore, rushed and taken admission," Jain said.

But it’s not only SRCC that saw a sea of students coming in for B Com and Economics (Hons). The seats in Hindu College are also about to be filled completely.
