Full stop in Capital on Dhanteras

Some slept in their cars, others abandoned them and started walking while the rest waited, hoping that the road will clear up. This Dhanteras, Delhi came to a complete standstill.
Manish Verma, a businessman, took a 90-minute nap in his car. So stuck was he on the Noida-Ghazipur road that he didn’t even have to think of starting ignition. “First I was angry and continuously honked, but then I realised that it was a futile exercise. So I slept,” he said.
Thursday too will be a bad day to venture out. All the major markets in the city, like Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, M-Block market Greater Kailash-1 and Lajpat Nagar will be up to their gills with last-minute shoppers. A repetition of the scene on your right is highly possible.
