The west Delhi police on Monday arrested three brothers — members of an interstate gang of robbers — for robbing people after they had withdrawn cash from banks.
The gang, which was active in Delhi, Mumbai and Assam, would to return to their native village in Uttar Pradesh after committing the robberies, police said.
Pankaj, 27, Dharmender, 22 and Sulender 19, all natives of Lakhimpur Khiri and currently residing in Jeevan Park in Uttam Nagar, were arrested from Pankha Road,
Uttam Nagar on specific information that they had come back from their native place to commit crime.
V Renganathan, additional CP (west) said the accused used their own motorcycle to misguide the police during checking.
"With their arrest, three cases of robberies have been solved. We have recovered the robbed money and articles purchased by the robbed amounts. Their bank accounts have also been seized," he added.
During interrogation Pankaj disclosed that he was influenced with the lifestyle of Rahul alias Chadda, his brother-in-law, who used to commit robberies with his associates Deepak, Raju and Vikas in Delhi, Mumbai and Assam.
Later Pankaj organised his own gang and recruited his younger brothers Dharmender and Sulender and started committing robberies in Delhi.
