More than 2,000 people are expected to participate in the third edition of the Delhi gay parade, which will be held in Connaught Place on Sunday at 3 pm. The event will see participants speaking out against discrimination faced by homosexuals in their daily lives.

"Just like the previous years, this year, too, the funds were raised by the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) community. On the day of the march, we will distribute masks, rainbow coloured scarves, candies, amongst other things," said one of the organisers.

To ensure traffic movement is not affected in and around CP, the Delhi police have made elaborate arrangements.

"The organisers sought our permission to assemble at Jantar Mantar on Sunday. We have made adequate arrangements," said Shankar Dash, ACP (New Delhi).

"We will also protest against discrimination faced by the LGBT community. The community is often subjugated to violence by police and thugs, they are blackmailed and forced into marriage by families which lead to suicides," added the organiser.
