The teachers of Delhi University on Thursday agreed before the Delhi High Court to declare the internal assessment marks of the students.
The marks were held up due to the teachers' protest against the implementation of semester system in undergraduate courses.
Delhi University Teachers Association's (DUTA) counsel told Justice Sunil Gaur that it would appeal to all its members on Friday to release the internal assessment marks.
"The career of the students would not be affected due to the impasse and a requisite appeal would be issued tomorrow,” the counsel said.
The statement came after the university informed the court that the Vice-Chancellor would meet DUTA members on Friday evening and look into the issue raised by them.
The Bench was hearing a petition filed by the university seeking a direction restraining the agitating teachers from going on strike and holding demonstrations repeatedly.
The university alleged that due to gherao and demonstration the smooth functioning of the administration, educational and examination system has been affected.
Following a letter from the University Grant Commission (UGC) on March 21, DU had implemented the semester system for the undergraduate students.
DUTA has been opposing the semester system for a long time but matters came to a head when Vice-Chancellor Deepak Pental approved the new curricula for 12 Science courses at the academic council meeting last week.
According to council members, he had passed the curriculum without discussion and walked out of the meeting.
