Girl goes with boyfriend, mom reports ‘abduction’

A call to the police control room (PCR) saying a girl was abducted from outside Kamla Nehru College in a Maruti Swift with tinted glasses kept south Delhi Police on their toes for over an hour.
More than 100 policemen got to work and barricaded the area around Hauz Khas and Defence Colony for intensive checking. However, it was later found out that the girl's mother had called the PCR when she saw the girl going with her boyfriend.
The 23-year-old girl, who works with a production house in Greater Kailash-2, was in a relationship with the boy, who is in property business. The girl's mother, however, did not approve of their relationship.
“A call was received at 12.45pm that a girl was abducted. Since there have been incidents of girls being abducted and raped, we had to locate the car immediately," said a senior police officer who did not wish to be named.
The police said they called the girl, who along with the boy, later appeared at Defence Colony police station. According to the police, the girl's mother made the PCR call to frame the boy.
"Earlier in the day the mother went to the boy's house in Sadiq Nagar and had an argument. After which, the boy and the girl sorted out the issue. When the girl left with the boy, her mother in anger made the PCR call," the officer said.
