Two men reportedly pulled a 13-year-old girl inside a house when she was passing by and kept her confined a cupboard for three days in Ambedkar Nagar area of south Delhi. They had also tried to rape her.

Few children who were playing nearby heard her cries and informed the locals. The parents, who had been looking for the girl for the past three days, forced open the door with the help of the police on Sunday night and rescued her from the cupboard.

The girl told the police that the two men--Yash Sharma and Sandeep-- had allegedly kidnapped her and tried to sexually assault her. When she resisted their attempts, they dumped her inside an iron cupboard.

The incident happened on Thursday. "On Thursday night, the girl had gone out of her house to relieve herself. When she was returning, Yash and Sandeep pulled her inside the house and gave her sedatives. They then tried to rape her and dumped her in a cupboard," said a senior police officer.

The police said that when the girl did not return home, her parents started looking for her. "The two men also joined her family and started searching for the girl. The drama continued for three days. The two men disappeared from the area on Sunday. Later in the night, few children who were playing near the house heard her shouts and informed her parents," said the officer. The family called the police control room and the girl was rescued.
