Expressing concern over reports of an Indian journalist being attacked in Australia, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi said on Monday that he was in touch with the Indian high commission there for a report on the incident.

An Indian journalist working undercover to expose immigration and education scams in Australia was assaulted over the weekend.

"I am not sure that there was a racist agenda behind the attack. Nowhere has it been reported in such a way, but I know some anti social elements have attacked this indian journalist," Ravi told reporters in New Delhi on Monday.
He said he is in touch with the high commission there for a report on the matter.
