The government on Monday came under sharp attack in Lok Sabha over the Chinese incursion in Ladakh from its ally Samajwadi Party which accused it of acting in a “cowardly” manner and objected to foreign minister Salman Khurshid’s forthcoming visit to China.
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said the Chinese incursion was an "attack" on India and asked the government to retaliate even if it leads to war.
Yadav, who had been defence minister, said China was the biggest threat India faced, even more than the neighbouring Pakistan. He asked the government to immediately cancel Khurshid’s Beijing trip scheduled for May 9.
“China has again attacked (India). I have been warning continuously for eight years that China has started occupying our territory. But the government is paying no heed to this,” he said during the zero hour amid demand of BJP MPs for the prime minister’s resignation over coalgate.
