Packed common rooms and auditoriums will be the order of the day at all Delhi University colleges as India plays Pakistan on Wednesday.
So while the St Stephen's auditorium will be packed with students as a projector screen showing the match will be set up, common rooms at other colleges will be the favourite haunt of students.
"The students, especially those living in the residence (hostel), should get an opportunity to watch the match and that is why we are setting up a big screen for them," said Aditya Kiran Kakati, students' union president, St Stephen's College.
The college is also holding an inter residence cricket tournament in which both girls and boys are participating. The final of this tournament will be on Thursday.
Students of other colleges are also excited about the match.
"I don't think anyone, including the teachers, will attend classes after 2pm. Hostellers will be in their common rooms and day scholars at home," said Varun Mehta, a student at Kirori Mal College.
Betting is also at its highest in the university with many students playing self styled bookies.
"My friend and I have bet on many aspects such as the outcome, score, wickets, etc., but it’s just harmless fun. Many other students are placing bets against each other. The stakes are anything between Rs 50 and Rs 1,000 or a treat in Kamla Nagar,” said Riddhima Khanna, a student at Miranda House.
