Three people, including an bank employee, were injured when a security guard’s air rifle fell and it went off at the Punjab National Bank in Karol Bagh on Friday, the police said.

The security guard, 60-year-old Narang Singh, is said to have retired from the Army 15 years ago and had been a security guard since. He was with the bank since 2006.

“The air rifle that he was issued as part of his job fell to the ground due to its defective strap, sending a shower of iron pellets into the air,” said a senior police officer.
According to police, three people, including an employee identified as Kashindra Kumar (30), were injured due to the accidental firing.
