Gurgaon executive commits suicide

A 35-year-old senior executive of a real estate firm ended her life by jumping off from the fifth floor of her office building in Sector 53, while another woman (54) was found hanging from her 9th floor apartment in Willington Estate, DLF City.

A 35-year-old senior executive of a real estate firm ended her life by jumping off from the fifth floor of her office building in Sector 53, while another woman (54) was found hanging from her 9th floor apartment in Willington Estate, DLF City.

According to the ACP (East) Sumit Kuhar, 35-year-old Namita Mehta, who worked with a real estate firm as vice president (HR) jumped off from the fifth floor of her office building Orchid Square in Sector 53.

"It was about 5.15 pm when Namita went to the terrace at the fifth floor, scaled a 4-feet high boundary wall and jumped off from there. She was rushed to Artemis Hospital in Sector 51 where she was brought dead. She has a six-year-old daughter and her husband also worked with a multinational corporation," Kuhar added.

ACP said that the reasons behind her suicide were not clearly known so far. However, the police officials investigating the incident said her relatives indicated that she was stressed. The reasons for her stress were not known, they said.

In another incident, 54-year old Anita Basu was found hanging from her 9th floor apartment in Willington Estate in DLF City (Phase V) on Monday afternoon.
