Build at a cost of Rs. 182.71 crore, the parking lot can accommodate 1,467 cars at six different underground levels. It is meant for the convenience of advocates, litigants and staff of the Delhi High Court.

“It is a dream come true — and one which we could realise after crossing several hurdles,” said Dikshit.

The multi-level car parking is fully automatic and equipped with high-tech security gadgets. The first basement has the in/out level, where the car owner can leave his car in one of the 20 car lifts available. The maximum parking/retrieval time for a car is three minutes, said sources.

The parking has been constructed on land measuring 2.38 acres near the National Stadium, opposite the Delhi High Court building.

“The constructed area comprising six basements and a deck slab, has been aesthetically developed with modern landscaping. We have made provisions for sitting arrangements for the general public and support facilities such as a cafeteria and a drivers’ lounge,” said Anuj Dayal, spokesperson, DMRC.

“The parking has public-friendly signages and a pedestrian underpass to guide users. It is connected with the high court through a pedestrian way with an escalator facility,” Dayal said, adding, “The availability of parking lots will be displayed through digital signages at the entry point.”
