The Delhi High Court has set aside an inquiry report on the basis of which a vice-principal of Ramjas College was removed fire years ago, following charges of sexual harassment by some male students.

A division bench of Justices BD Ahmed and VK Jain directed the inquiry committee to prepare a fresh report after allowing the accused to cross examine the witnesses in six months.

The court allowed the former vice-principal's plea that the inquiry procedure under the Delhi University Ordinance was violative of Article 14 of the Constitution, as he was not allowed to cross examine the witnesses who had deposed against him.
