HC slams govt for challenging NHRC order

The Delhi High Court has slammed the Centre for challenging an NHRC order asking it to pay damages of Rs one lakh to a widow whose 28-year-old daughter suffered from medical complications after she was administered the wrong drug by Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

The Delhi High Court has slammed the Centre for challenging an NHRC order asking it to pay damages of Rs one lakh to a widow whose 28-year-old daughter suffered from medical complications after she was administered the wrong drug by Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Dismissing government’s appeal, Justice S Muralidhar also imposed an exemplary cost of Rs one lakh on the government for “prolonging the agony of the victim's mother and preventing her from getting compensation...”
