This wannabe god-man learnt the tricks of the flesh trade from the best in the business.
However, he later became a tough competitor and enemy of the very people who initiated him into the trade.
Shiv Murat Dwivedi (39), better known as Ichchadhari Sant Swami Bhimanand Ji Maharaj Chitrakoot, was earlier a close associate of Geeta Arora alias Sonu Punjaban.
According to police, Punjaban has come in handy in providing vital information about Dwivedi’s sex-trade network.
Punjaban, who’s out on bail, was last arrested from south Delhi on November 21, 2008 for allegedly running a prostitution racket.
According to police, Punjaban has told them that Dwivedi supplied call girls to hi-profile clients not only in the Capital but also in cities like Mumbai.
“Punjaban has provided us with information about his modus operandi. She told us that Dwivedi recruited the girls through a series of pimps, who went to pubs and bars, looking for potential sex trade workers,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.
“She also added that he tried to poach girls from other major sex-racket runners like Kanwaljeet and Kana,” he added.
According to police, Punjaban provided information about Dwivedi because he was becoming tough competition for them and was also taking away their clients.
The police, on Sunday, took Dwivedi to Chitrakoot, where he ran an ashram on a multi-crore property, spread over 20-acres.
The police said that Dwivedi, however, had humble beginnings.
“In 1997, he started a sex racket in the garb of a massage parlour from a house in Lajpat Nagar,” said the officer.
“He learnt the nuances of running the sex racket from people like Kawaljeet and Punjaban who had become big names,” he added.
Dwivedi built a cave-like structures in a temple he built in south Delhi’s Khanpur.
He had recently built a 200-bed-hospital in his native place.
The racket was unearthed on February 25 after police received inputs about pimps and sex workers who were to come to PVR Saket.
