He promised people with govt jobs, arrested

A 30-year-old man, a former journalist with a newspaper, was arrested on Friday for allegedly cheating people by promising them government jobs and issuing fake appointment letters. The arrested has been identified as Arun Bhanot. HT reports.

A 30-year-old man, a former journalist with a newspaper, was arrested on Friday for allegedly cheating people by promising them government jobs and issuing fake appointment letters. The arrested has been identified as Arun Bhanot.

Devesh Chandra Srivastava, additional CP (central), said that Bhanot was arrested following investigations into a complaint filed by one Sushil Sharma. Sharma's father paid the accused Rs. 1.7 lakh for a job for his son. Bhanot gave an assurance of providing a job in a government bank by using fake letter head.
