The Emmanuel Hospital Association, St. Stephen’s Hospital and the Mar Thoma Church have joined hands to operate a 24X7 helpline — 1860 266 2345 for mental health problems. The Vandrevala Foundation launched the Delhi helpline on Wednesday.

“We want to assist mental health patients of north India as statistics show that the Capital lacks a dedicated source of help,” said Dr Arun John of Vandrevala Foundation.

The helpline aims to support people suffering from depression, multiple sclerosis, dementia and others suffering from psychological problems. The personnel manning the helpline are qualified psychologists. Calls are escalated to psychiatrists depending on severity.
