Aardee City has three parks, but they are of no use. Residents are complaining that all the three parks in the society have been dug up to lay gas pipeline.

Though the work has been completed, the parks are full of pits giving open invitation to any disaster. One of the three parks is especially built for children.

“In the Millennium City, huge buildings are common sight, but greenery is missing. In our society, there are three parks, the only place where people can go for walks. But they have turned into a place where only pits are visible,” said TN Kaul, president, Resident Welfare Association, Aardee City.

“The work of laying pipeline has been finished. We have asked the Aardee management to repair the parks, but no action has been taken,” he added.

Sumesh Narang, general secretary of the association, said, “Children are annoyed as they have been asked by their parents not to visit the parks. There is no other place in the area where they can enjoy themselves.”

Residents have started avoiding the parks. “After rains, it is difficult to spot a pit in these parks. We prefer not to send children there. Even we ourselves avoid going there,” Mamta Sharma, a resident, said.

Anil Hasija, senior vice-president, Aardee Infrastructure Private Limited, said, “The pipe is being laid by Indian Oil Corporation. It is a government project and we need to support this project. We would get the parks repaired soon. But the process is getting delayed because of the rainy season.”
